You can delete your TACLIIM account yourself, from inside the app, at any time. You do not need to ask us and you do not need to wait.
This is permanent. Your account is removed straight away. There is no waiting period, no grace period, and no way for us to bring it back afterwards.
In the TACLIIM app:
Your account is gone at that point and you are returned to the sign-in screen.
If you have lost your password, changed phone, or already uninstalled the app, email us and we will delete the account for you:
Send it from the email address the account is registered to, with the subject Delete my TACLIIM account. We can only act on a request from the account's own address — otherwise anyone could delete anyone else's account by writing to us.
We aim to reply within 7 days, and to delete the account within 30 days of confirming it is yours.
| What | When |
|---|---|
| Your name, email address, password and profile photo | Immediately |
| Your membership of every group | Immediately |
| Your attendance record, and any absence reasons you filed | Immediately |
| Your Qur'an bookmarks and last-read position | Immediately |
| How far you had read in each group | Immediately |
| Your book downloads, saved pages and reading position | Immediately |
| Your sign-in tokens, on this and every other device | Immediately |
| Your notification token, so the phone stops receiving alerts | Immediately |
Messages you sent stay in the group. They are no longer linked to you — your name and photo are replaced with Deleted User, and nothing in the message points back to your account.
They are kept because a group conversation belongs to everybody in it. If every message a departing member sent vanished, the people still in that class would be left with half a conversation and replies to questions nobody asked.
This includes photos and voice notes you sent. A picture of your face, or a recording of your voice, stays in the group after your account is gone — shown as sent by Deleted User, but still there.
If that is not what you want, delete those messages before you delete your account. In the app, hold a message and choose Delete. You can also ask us by email and we will remove them for you.
Your teacher can also delete any message in their own group, including yours.
A teacher cannot delete their account while a class is still running, because doing so would take the group and its lessons with it and leave the students with nothing.
Before you can delete, you need to:
The app will tell you if either of these is still outstanding.
Uninstalling TACLIIM does not delete your account. It removes the app and the books you downloaded from your phone, but your account, your groups and your attendance stay on the server, and you can sign in again later.
If you only want the downloaded books off your phone, you can remove them one at a time from the Books tab without touching your account.
